Service Dogs by Nicole G.

Are you interested in what service dogs can do? There are many people who have to deal with disabilities or issues they have in life. It can be anxiety, disorders, diabetes, mental illness, etc. These service animals provide attention and help on a day to day basis. In this case a service dog is an amazing helper and is very much worth getting. Service dogs can help with people’s physical and mental well being.

It’s thrilling how service dogs can help with people’s anxiety. According to “Top 10 Benefits of Therapy and Service Dogs,” service dogs help with anxiety relief. For those living with anxiety disorders, a service dog can provide reassurance and help create a safe place so you can feel comfortable. A service dog will make you feel special and willing to trust them. “Studies have shown that when we touch dogs, it has a healing power because hormones like dopamine and beta endorphins are released.” My mom has a friend who owns a service dog and one day we were at her house and then she collapsed; then I saw her service dog run and get her the right medication to help her get better. If you have daily problems and want a loving well-behaved dog, get a service dog. It’s crazy on how many things they can do.

Having a service dog can help with daily tasks. Owning a service dog is like having a child or another person to help you. According to Akc.org in the sourc“Service Dogs 101- Everything You Need to Know,” it states on how service dogs can do so many things that people don’t think of. Our helpful furry friends can help with pills, groceries, and even handing you diapers if ur a mom. One nice afternoon I was heading to Publix, I walked into an aisle when I saw a lady and a service dog was grabbing cookies and was thinking on how to put the cookies in the cart. The dog looked like it works amazing doing their job. Who could ever even believe service dogs are like human beings. This just proves service dogs could do mostly everything.

I find it fascinating on how service dogs are on always on high alert. According to Cooperativepaws.com and the source “Alert! Service Dogs and Alert Training,” it says “ Service dogs are being trained to alert to everything from allergens, seizures and autoimmune flare ups to blood sugar changes and much moreAlerts are the most exciting area of growth in the field of service dog training, and also the most mysterious.” This all leads to service dogs having awesome focusing skills. It’s hard for them to learn but when they do it they act like they have known things for years. On a Friday morning, I went to Walmart when all of the sudden a dog with a service dog with a vest tried to get my and my mom’s attention. So we followed the dog to find his owner on the floor, and soon after we helped the lady and asked for help. Please teach your child/children to not try to touch, call over, or interact with a service dog without having their owner’s permission. It’s always good to know you have a little assistant that can help you and is always focused. Service dogs are always on point when it comes to helping their loved ones.

To sum up everything I have stated so far, service dogs are capable of doing many tasks. To a variety of people, service dogs are more then just pets and companions. Service dogs help thousands of people across the world and we are extremely thankful for that. If service dogs didn’t exist it would be very sad due to many people needing service dogs daily. Have you ever came across a service dog?
