Service Dogs by Nicole G.

Are you interested in what service dogs can do? There are many people who have to deal with disabilities or issues they have in life. It can be anxiety, disorders, diabetes, mental illness, etc. These service animals provide attention and help on a day to day basis. In this case a service dog is an amazing helper and is very much worth getting. Service dogs can help with people’s physical and mental well being.

It’s thrilling how service dogs can help with people’s anxiety. According to “Top 10 Benefits of Therapy and Service Dogs,” service dogs help with anxiety relief. For those living with anxiety disorders, a service dog can provide reassurance and help create a safe place so you can feel comfortable. A service dog will make you feel special and willing to trust them. “Studies have shown that when we touch dogs, it has a healing power because hormones like dopamine and beta endorphins are released.” My mom has a friend who owns a service dog and one day we were at her house and then she collapsed; then I saw her service dog run and get her the right medication to help her get better. If you have daily problems and want a loving well-behaved dog, get a service dog. It’s crazy on how many things they can do.

Having a service dog can help with daily tasks. Owning a service dog is like having a child or another person to help you. According to Akc.org in the sourc“Service Dogs 101- Everything You Need to Know,” it states on how service dogs can do so many things that people don’t think of. Our helpful furry friends can help with pills, groceries, and even handing you diapers if ur a mom. One nice afternoon I was heading to Publix, I walked into an aisle when I saw a lady and a service dog was grabbing cookies and was thinking on how to put the cookies in the cart. The dog looked like it works amazing doing their job. Who could ever even believe service dogs are like human beings. This just proves service dogs could do mostly everything.

I find it fascinating on how service dogs are on always on high alert. According to Cooperativepaws.com and the source “Alert! Service Dogs and Alert Training,” it says “ Service dogs are being trained to alert to everything from allergens, seizures and autoimmune flare ups to blood sugar changes and much moreAlerts are the most exciting area of growth in the field of service dog training, and also the most mysterious.” This all leads to service dogs having awesome focusing skills. It’s hard for them to learn but when they do it they act like they have known things for years. On a Friday morning, I went to Walmart when all of the sudden a dog with a service dog with a vest tried to get my and my mom’s attention. So we followed the dog to find his owner on the floor, and soon after we helped the lady and asked for help. Please teach your child/children to not try to touch, call over, or interact with a service dog without having their owner’s permission. It’s always good to know you have a little assistant that can help you and is always focused. Service dogs are always on point when it comes to helping their loved ones.

To sum up everything I have stated so far, service dogs are capable of doing many tasks. To a variety of people, service dogs are more then just pets and companions. Service dogs help thousands of people across the world and we are extremely thankful for that. If service dogs didn’t exist it would be very sad due to many people needing service dogs daily. Have you ever came across a service dog?

Labrador Dogs by Kedwing R.

Did you know why Labradors could be great service animals? To start off, these dogs are highly trained for people with hearing loss and more. Therefore, since it’s trained it will be able to do tasks to the benefit with people that have disabilities. These dogs can also sense your emotions so when your sad they know.

Secondly, service Labrador helps people with mental illness. Service Labradors help with depression, and bipolar disorder. In the site servicedogs.com, service Labradors are trained to assist people that have mental disorders. The task of a service Labrador is to keep people with mental disorders safe. Based on ack.org, although service Labradors can’t help you with certain things that other dogs can, they keep you safe at all times. Service Labradors can help you with reading in front of an audience. There are some people afraid of large crowds so they have a service Labrador to help them. Service Labradors are the most loved animals as a service animal since about 70% of people adore them. To sum up, service Labradors mostly get loved because of how gentle they are.

Next, In ack.org, studies have shown that service Labradors provide health benefits and can increase fitness and lower stress and improve happiness. If these animals weren’t here today many people would have probably been suffering. These animal-like heroes can save us from everything like falling down a hole, tripping, avoiding dangerous objects, and falling off hills. There are so many service animals to choose from and Labradors are very beneficial. There are some service Labradors that can help you survive dangerous situations not common to find one well trained that can do that. Service Labradors are the best mental animals that help you read in big crowds.

There are also miscellaneous items to point out. Lastly, service Labradors are great with children, teens, and adults. Service Labradors can also help you concentrate on homework. Service Labradors are well behaved animals. Service Labradors can help you with tasks they even help you while you’re on the streets. Lastly, these are the reasons why they are great service animals.

To sum up information, service Labradors could be the greatest animals alive. The reason this is, is because you can be so playful with them, and they wouldn’t get mad. To me, blind pedestrians need them more to walk because they can bump into someone or a car. My point is if you want a service dog, this is my recommendation.

Support Parrots by Jayne A.

People that have mental or physical disabilities can greatly benefit with the help of a support animal. There are many types of support or service animals, and the most common ones are dogs. More and more along the years there have been new types of service animals like cats, pigs, and parrots. There are many types of parrots like small cockatoos, macaws, or like African greys. The most looked for parrot is the African grey. Due to the fact that the African greys can mimic sounds, noises, can talk, are highly intelligent, and can sense people emotions, they are picked as support animals.

To begin with, African greys are highly intelligent. According to lafeber.com in the article called “Parrots as Service Animals,” “With innate abilities to mimic human voice and acquiring phrases.” This means that the African greys can speak to you in clear words and words you'll be able to understand. “The parrots are able to provide a calming influence over those suffering from various levels of anxiety.” Also, their calming present provides a soothing environment. “The parrots had been successfully used to soothe the man’s anxieties enabling him to merge more seamlessly with society.” Meaning that the parrot can stay calm in public, making the man feel more comfortable around people.

Additionally, parrots are highly trainable. According to the Petsoid.com this article called “Parrots as Service Animals,” “most of these birds treat their owners very well. It doesn’t take long for a parrot to establish a deep and lasting bond with its owner.” This is saying that parrots easily become friends with their new owners. “Parrots with innate abilities to mimic human voice and acquiring phrases to use.” This means parrots can learn any word or learn what you teach it to say. “You can however, train parrots to perform certain actions. This can be particularly useful for those who are prone to self-harming behaviors.” This is basically saying that you can train the parrots to do certain acts or things to stop self-harm. They are there as an extra helpful presence in someone’s household.

Lastly, parrots can sense peoples’ emotions. According to lafeber.com article, parrots can sense peoples’ emotions. “Parrots are known to be intuitively aware of the human emotions.”  Basically, this is saying that if you get mad, sad, or feel nervous the parrot can pick up how you feel. They can sense when their owner becomes angry, when they become stressed, and begin to grow tense as a result. This is saying that they can sense the changes in your body heat and your energy. “By the trained use of certain phrases that can soothe an increasingly agitated individual, an ESA parrot can provide an emotional assistance that can be most helpful.” Meaning that they can show the parrots certain words and sentences to help calm their owners down.

To end all these thoughts, having a parrot as a support animal is greatly beneficial. They are highly intelligent, trainable, and good at sensing people’s emotion. You can teach them how to talk and imitate sounds that you want them to say. As a result, people with mental or physical disabilities can greatly benefit with the help of a parrot as their service animal.

Therapy Ferrets by Terrell H.

Therapy animals are the best! Here’s why ferret as an example. They bond closely and quickly with people, and when you’re down they check on you or kiss you to make feel better. Ferrets help with depression and anxiety with people who suffer through health issues. The ferrets don’t get stressed with moving a lot since they’re trained and friendly. They are great therapy animals.

To start off, ferrets cure depression by comforting their owners. They have good behavior and offer companionship. Their best Benefits are they’re small, so they can ride on airplanes. They are calm and easy to carry. They’re bathroom trained so they won’t make a mess. They don’t bark, fight, or run around everywhere. They’re almost trained to wake up their owners and tell them to take their medication. They don’t need a lot of food. They also give comfort to emotion symptoms. The article that stated these benefits was found on “Be Ferrets.”

Next, how many disabilities are they good for? Well, ferrets can help with physical, psychiatric, intellectual, and mental disabilities. Ferret-owning benefits include lowering their owners’ blood pressure. They can also reduce depression and anxiety and feelings of emotional isolation. They can provide comfort for people or owners in pain or who are ill. They increase socialization and communication. Ferret owners are known to be soothed by their ferrets. I found this information in the source“Be Chewy.”

Finally, ferrets are very social and quiet, which make these ferrets good therapy animals. Ferrets help their owners make friendships when they are alone or social awkward. They can help people with and without disabilities. They don’t trigger allergies compared to other furry animals. They don’t really need outdoor space, so they are fine indoors. Ferrets are also highly trained to alert their owners the take their medication.

To conclude, the way ferrets bond quickly with their owners benefits them a lot. The way they wake up owners to stop harmful behaviors which help with anxiety depression and other symptoms is priceless. And ferrets can help with communication when with owners are shy. Ferrets are good all around.

Golden Retrievers by David P.

Did you know golden retrievers are one of the smartest if not the smartest service dogs in the world?  To start with, one reason this is true is because they are strong dog breeds who have great physical support. Another reason these animals are great is they are easy to train because of how obedient they are. This shows they are nice dogs that will take orders their trainer gives them. These animals are probably the sweetest dogs seen.

Firstly, golden retrievers are amazing service animals. They are very calm around people, they are alert but don’t react to much, they will follow you around a lot, they are very good at socializing in different environments, and they are able to be touched. These all build up to a nice friendly service dog. In “Training Golden Retrievers to Be Excellent Service Dog Breeds” the golden retriever’s ability to adapt to different situations is high. It makes it a very ideal breed of dogs. And what makes it a fantastic service animal is it has feelings for people who are hurting. In “Golden Retrievers As Service Dogs (Training, Facts & Myths),” “The traits that make a good service dog can vary depending on what tasks they perform.” “For instance, if they’re trained to help someone physically, then they need to be big and strong enough to perform these tasks.” These two sentences show how a dog needs to be trained for physical tasks.

These animals in my eyes are very trustworthy service animals. They can be costly, but you can get around that. It costs about $30,000 to get a trained service dog golden retriever. But instead, the cheaper way of getting a trained service dog is to train the dog alone or work with a professional. In “Golden Retrievers as Service Dogs,” “It is important for a service dog to have a certain set of characteristics that make them good candidates for learning skills and supporting their owner.” This shows how perfect it will be to train a golden retriever to be a service dog. With these set of attributes, it shows how they are incredible. And even though you are training your retriever, it needs breaks.

Next, some people have problems getting around. In “Golden Retrievers as Service Dogs,” as their name indicates, “golden retrievers love to retrieve.” The fact these retrievers are quickly able to understand commands shows golden retrievers are good for mobility assistance. The last reason that I have about the golden retriever being a great service animal is the golden retriever is not easily distracted by obstacles. So they love to retrieve and they are focused on their handlers.

Finally, golden retrievers are good all around. Their perfect behavior, their great physicality, and smartness shows how good this breed is as service animals. Golden retrievers are in love with bringing items back, which is good for bringing items you need back to you. And The animal isn’t easily distracted away from missions. All these things combine up to how a golden retriever is a beneficial service animal.

Support Rabbits by Belen A.

Is a rabbit a good option for a support animal? Rabbits are very social with people and can make great companions and emotional support animals. Rabbits bond quickly with their owners, and their loving, caring nature makes them an ideal emotional support animal. Rabbits that have bonded strongly with their owners can recognize them by their voice and will eventually learn to come when their name is called, so there are benefits of having rabbits as support animals as they are trainable, loving, and caring.

A reason rabbits are good support animals is because they are loving and have a caring personality. Only people who have ever owned a rabbit know that these adorable furry creatures are gentle and docile by nature. According to the website supportrabbitcertification.org, it states that “even if they are quiet their loving and caring personality builds a strong bond with the owners.” For example, they can recognize their owners by their voices and can hop on them when they call their name. I had a bunny once, although he wasn’t a support animal, and he loved to cuddle, was always gentle so it made me feel much better to have a bunny that loves and cares for me. While the human is caressing the bunny, his/her endorphins can be stimulated that can calm the emotions and reduce any stress, which is beneficial for someone who is feeling low and needs emotional comfort.

Another reason is that rabbits are trainable. According to the source“Rabbits Are Easy To Train,” rabbits respond very well to positive reinforcement training. For example, give them training treats as a reward when they perform the tasks correctly. When I had my rabbit, he knew how to use a litter box as long as I gave him a little guidance. You need to place the box in their living area and put several layers of newspaper under the hay. Then the house training for these animals comes naturally. A well-trained rabbit can come when called and perform tricks. This is a strong benefit of having this animal, making things easier for handlers and owners.

Lastly, rabbits can be emotional support animals. According to the website bunnyland.com, “If you suffer from conditions such as anxiety, depression or other mental health conditions and find that your pet improves your ability to function in daily life, then you can get your rabbit certificated as an emotional support animal.” Getting certification this will help you find housing and travel without the need to be separated from your pet. If you’ve ever lived with a pet rabbit, I’m sure you understand how amazing they are for your mental health. As someone who grew up familiar with those who have anxiety, I cannot begin to explain how much a pet rabbit has helped others cope with life and improve their mental health. They cuddle, are friendly and are there for their owners. This was just another added benefit.

To analyze everything I have talked about, rabbits have many benefits of being support animals. They are friendly around people, healthy, and are easy to care for. They are comfortable around unfamiliar places, and completely litter trained with no accidents. Pet rabbits can be emotional support animals and providing many benefits.

Capuchin Monkeys by John F.

There are some people who face challenges in a daily basis like in a mental, physical or emotional way, and a good way to help them would be with a service or support animal. These animals help people with disabilities and everyday things. The animal I feel who is a great support animal is a capuchin monkey because they’re trainable, they live long, and less people are allergic. I will be explaining to you why a capuchin monkey Is a great support animal.

The first reason a capuchin monkey is an amazing support animal is that they are highly trainable animals.  According to this information on Monkeyhelpers.org, they can be trained to turn pages, flip a light switch, retrieve dropped objects, insert straws into bottles, touch button switches for remotes, phones, computers, etc… Also, capuchin monkeys aren’t like other animals since they have opposable thumbs. They can open doors for you and retrieve specific items for you. Capuchin monkeys are also potty trained to get to their cage and go to the bathroom or they wear diapers to be cautious and not make a mess. What makes a capuchin monkey a good support animal is that they are very quick learners, able to manipulate objects, and are not usually aggressive, making them suitable in the home and to travel with. Capuchin monkeys are also known to be care partners because they have been trained to help those with mobility and dexterity issues.

The second reason capuchin monkeys are a great support animal is that they have a life span between 15 - 25 years in the wild. I found this information in “How Long Do Monkeys Live.” Although, these monkeys enjoy a long life span as they can survive for up to 35 years in captivity. Capuchins also have a low chance of catching diseases and rarely get sick.  Most people go through several service animals. Although with one capuchin monkey, that’s all you need because of their lifespan. I think it’s good to have a capuchin monkey because you won’t have to worry about the animal leaving the household too soon. Most people go through 3 - 4 support animals but with one capuchin monkey you won’t have to worry about going through multiple animals. An animal who lives 30-40 years is preferable versus one that lives 15-20 years.

The final reason why I think the capuchin monkey is a great service monkey is because of its hair. According to Monkeyhelpers.org, it says that because of the way the hair of the capuchin monkey is, they are less allergic to people. That being said, that is a great reason to have them as a support animal because it is very common that a lot of people tend not to have animals around due to being allergic to their hair. Also, when you have people over you don’t have to worry about them being allergic. Allergies are a serious thing and can send people to the hospital. Animal fur Is known to cause many allergies but because capuchin monkeys are less likely to affect people, they can help a lot more and be deployed in more homes. Their hair comes in different colors such as, cream, light tan, and other colors, and non-allergenic. So, it would seem that the capuchin monkey is a great support animal for people who have deadly allergies.

In conclusion, these are the 3 reasons I believe that a capuchin monkey is a great support animal. It is helpful/ trainable, its life span is long so you won’t have to worry about it, and finally its hair won’t trigger allergies. So these monkeys help people with disabilities and mental, physical, and even emotional problems.

There are people who have mental and physical problems who would need a service animal or an emotional support animal. Animals that are service or an emotional support animals help people by helping the owners with a disability, like guiding a blind person. This is what guinea pigs can do to help with mental health. It also states that guinea pigs can support with love issues and stress in life. Guinea pigs are nice to watch when upset or angry. Ferrets as Support/Therapy Animals by Keily S.

What is the first animal that comes to your head when you hear the word “Support Animal”? Well, if you’re thinking of a dog, you’re correct! But, did you know that ferrets can be classified as support animals? That’s right, ferrets can help people with disabilities in many ways. Ferrets can help people calm down, and even alert them of an incoming panic attack. Benefits of having ferrets as a service animal are that they are comfortable around humans, help with mental health, and are trainable.

To commence, ferrets can be a beneficial support animal because they are comfortable around humans. According to “Bechewy-The Ferret Factor,” ferrets are very social. This means that they will be happy with their owner. In “Bechewy- How Ferrets Help,” the author stated, “They are always interested in what is going on with their human,” Richardson, the director of the Ferret Rescues Ferrets at Heart says. This piece of evidence show that ferrets are very curious, which means they are always ready to figure out what’s wrong with their human. Based on “Trifl,” the passage shows that ferrets have been domesticated a long time ago and have a comfortable relationship with humans. This makes them idea to have as a support or therapy animal.

To continue, ferrets  can be beneficial support animals because they help you with mental health. In “Bechewy-How Ferrets help,” the passage states that Scott Myles said that energetic ferrets increase morale and make people in need laugh. For example, I have known people that have owned ferrets in the past, and they were always joyful around them. The author in “Ferret World,” stated that a person with depression kept feeling that no one loved them, which made them feel worse. Although, their ferrets showed them affection and love, which helped them greatly. Personally, if I had depression, I would love to have a ferret by my side. In the passage “Neeness,” it stated that a woman went to court for keeping her therapy ferrets, claiming that they helped prevent seizures. Owning and interacting with ferrets helps people with brain chemistry.

Lastly, ferrets can be beneficial support animals because they are trainable. According to “Bechewy,” ferrets can be trained to alert handlers to take medication when needed. This is very helpful to people who might be forgetful. In “Bechewy- How Ferrets Help,” it states that Frances Woodard of Ontario, Canada was able to train her ferrets to alert her on oncoming panic attacks triggered by her agoraphobia. Imagine if she didn’t have her ferrets—what do you think would have happened?According to “All Ferrets,” the author stated that ferrets can be trained to deliver comfort and affection to people with disabilities. Like other support animals, ferrets can be very helpful according to this piece of evidence.

In conclusion, ferrets can be very beneficial support animals because they are comfortable around humans, help with mental health, and are trainable. Many studies show that  ferrets can be trained to do many things like alert you of an oncoming panic attack. Ferrets are also very comfortable around humans, due to the fact that they have been domesticated a long time ago. To add, ferrets help people in  need by helping their mental health. They can boost morale and prevent seizures. In the  end, studies show that ferrets can be an excellent choice of a support animal.

Emotional Support Rabbits by Jazlynn N.

Do you think a rabbit will be a good support animal? Well, if you lived with a pet rabbit, I’m sure you understand how amazing these little fluffy friends can be for your health. For those of you in similar situations, it may be worth talking to a psychiatrist or therapist about Emotional Support Animals. Emotional support rabbits are trainable and don’t require a lot of space.

According to Bunnylady.com, “Emotional Support,” if you suffer from conditions such as anxiety, depression, or have another mental health condition and find that your pet improves your ability to function in daily life, then you can get your rabbit certified as an Emotional Support Animal. Getting this documentation will help you find housing and travel without the needs to be separated from your pet. However, its important to understand the requirements and laws surrounding Emotional Support Animals. This way you’ll know your rights and be prepared for the situations that can arise. Pet rabbits can be an Emotional Support Animals (ESA) for people who struggle with a mental health condition. The ESA must be prescribed by a psychologist as a form of treatment, certifying that the pet helps to alleviate the conditions of the person’s illness(es) and supports their mental health.

Then, according to supportdogcertification.org, “Rabbits are Trainable,” the same as cats, rabbits instinctively know how to use a “little box” as long as you give them a little guidance. You need to place the box in their living area and put several layers of newspaper under the hay; also they can come litter box trained. Then the house training for these smart animals comes naturally. Due to the skittish nature of rabbits, it is best to house rabbits in areas that are not noisy or busy, such as outside, in a room with music, or other areas. You can easily train your rabbit to do tricks, because they are smart and also love to learn. With patience, your bunny can be trained to run agility courses, fetch, jump, spin, and do other things that are both soothing and entertaining.

Lastly, according to supportdogcertification.org, rabbits don’t require lots of space. Apart from the house training they receive, bunnies respond very well to positive reinforcement training. For example, giving them training treats such as carrots, or banana or apple chunks as a reward when they perform the task the right way. A well-trained rabbit can come when called and perform plenty of tricks. The only space a rabbit needs is to stretch out its legs, because their muscles will wither if they stay in a hutch or cage all day. Their health will then suffer, and they can often become aggressive in these circumstances too, so people should keep the rabbits happy so they can provide the support their handlers need.

To conclude these thoughts, emotional support rabbits provide emotional comfort for people that have mental disorders such as anxiety, PTSD and ADHD. You can register the household rabbit as an ESA in an online organization. Then, after you register you’ll receive a certificate that is a document to protect your rights. However, make sure you really require the ESA owner to present the ESA letter written by a professional psychologist.

Chinchillas as Support Animals - Gabriela C.

Elderly and young humans can haves many physical or mental health problems. It’s called being physically or mentally unstable. People can even die from physical or mental health problems. That’s when support or therapy animals became a thing. Support animals are animals that provide comfort and relax people with mental or physical health problems. These animals could be used as emotional support. If I were to have a support animal, it would be a chinchilla. Chinchillas can be emotional support service animals because they provide comfort, they are good listeners, and they have their own personalities that you could relate to.

To start off, chinchillas provide comfort. According to this online article, Chinchillacaregroup.com, “Can chinchillas be emotional support animals?,” it says “Although chinchillas are not affectionate, they do provide comfort, they like scratches and cuddles, when they are ready for them.” This sentence tells me that chinchillas aren’t affectionate, but they provide comfort with their personality traits. I have an example from the time I first got my chinchilla. When I first got my chinchilla as a gift, he was scared of me. After a few days, he got used to me. Whenever I was feeling depressed, he was always there for. He provided comfort in any way. So, chinchillas can be perfect emotional support animals.

Second of all, chinchillas are good listeners. According to the online article from chinchillacaregroup.com, “Can Chinchillas Be Emotional Support Animals?” it states, “Chinchillas are very good listeners. Once they get used to you, they will happily listen to your voice and calmly sit on their cage shelf.” This means that chinchillas will listen to your conversations patiently. One time, an associate used to have a chinchilla as an emotional support service animal. She would talk about her life problems to the chinchilla and the chinchilla would sit there calmly listening. My friend would be so happy because the chinchilla understood her. This affected the way she felt. So, chinchillas can help out when you are facing problems you want to talk about.

To continue, chinchillas can have their own personalities and you can relate to them. In the online article from lovechinchilla.com, “Do Chinchillas Like to Cuddle?,” it states, “At a glance, pet chinchillas look super adorable and cuddly, and you believe that they would make excellent cuddle animals, once they get to know you, however, the truth is that most chinchillas  have their own  personality , and they might or might not like being cuddled by you.” This is explaining to me that these little adorable looking animals like being cuddled, but some don’t. Which means they have some of their own character traits. Once, I used to have two little, fluffy bunnies. One LOVED being cuddled. The other one didn’t really like cuddles. The one that loved cuddles was a white bunny. The one that didn’t was a black bunny. I tried cuddling the black bunny but it would always end up running away from me. So then I thought, “Maybe the black bunny has its own personality?” So I did not give it any cuddles. I saw the black bunny looking more comfortable that usual. So if your pets are never comfortable when you cuddle them, please, just don’t cuddle them. Those pets might be good for support in other ways.

To conclude, many people with emotional problems have their own service animal. It can either be a chinchilla, or something else. But they choose who they’re comfortable with. There are many positive reasons to have a chinchilla for therapy or support.

Benefits of Service Dogs by Alice D.

There are people who have been having challenges in their life, mental or physical issues, are grateful for these service animals who are beneficial in their lives. These animals provide support to them as well to any other therapy that they receive. These animals can provide health benefits, and assistance with activities. There are a variety of animals that can be useful to be supportive/therapy/service animals. One of these animals is a dog, and there are benefits of having them as service animals as they are trained and to improve people’s mental health and physical health.

First, dogs are trainable. As stated in akc.org, in an article entitled “Service Dogs 101-Everything You Need to Know,” the most common breeds trained as guide dogs are Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, and German Shepherd Dogs. This means not all breeds can be service dogs since the dog must have a certain size to help in a variety of ways for a person with a disability. This source also talks about how a service dog is trained to take a specific action whenever required, to assist a person with their disability. The task the dog performs is related to their person’s disability. In the end, they help a person with a disability lead a better and independent life. These service dogs are trained to do work or perform tasks to make that person feel comfortable with their life. The trainability of this animal serves as a major benefit if choosing this creature as a therapy or support animal

Second, dogs improve people’s mental health. According to web.com, in an article entitled “What are Psychiatric Services,” psychiatric service dogs or PSDs are trained for mental health issues rather than physical disability issues. These dogs can also help their owners with some tasks, but they might not be able to do or give them to live a more normal life. These dogs have the same type of training as service dogs do. That means that they can go with you to places where pets usually are not allowed. PSDs can also travel with you on planes without any added cost. Psychiatric service dogs can also be any breed of dog or any size, which is a good thing if they can help you with tasks. Psychiatric service dog training can be done by the owner; these dogs are also trained in different organizations. A psychiatric service dog greatly benefits their handler.

Lastly, dogs also improve people’s physical health. According to k94life.org, in an article entitled “Benefits of Service Dogs,” dogs are able to support people’s physical disabilities in a variety of ways. One is helping people in wheelchairs; service dogs help provide support for them by doing their routine every day. Another one is service dogs help people with fatigue issues; they can help people regain balance and can prevent falling. Whether you require ongoing medical attention, or a balance disorder is holding back your routine and basic practices, skillful trained service dogs can become your partner in many activities. A service dog as your partner can work with you to transport items, moving place to place with you and keep you healthy. The skillfulness of this animal serves as a major benefit if choosing this creature as your physical health dog.

In conclusion, having a dog as a therapy or support animal has its benefits. They are trained and cannot be any breed because they cannot help a person with disabilities since they must be able to help in a variety of ways, although ones for psychological purposes can be different breeds. If you care for your dog very much than that means they can easily help you provide years of mental and physical relief. There is a variety of ways dogs can help a person in need feel better each day. To summarize, there are a diversity of benefits if someone had this animal in their household, or even in limited periods if they go to a facility for therapy.

Service Dogs by Andrea G.

Did you know that some people have to face illnesses and service dogs can help them? Service dogs have different type of benefits. Service dogs can provide people with companionship. Service dogs can also help humans who have mental health illnesses. Service dogs can also help with self-improvement. These are three reasons on why service dogs are helpful.

Firstly, one benefit a service dog provides is companionship. For example, in “Benefits of a Service Dog “it says “a dog provides companionship that can ease feelings of loneliness.” It also says, “gaining a service dog means adding a loyal companion to your life that goes beyond typical canine devotion.” This shows that if you’re ever feeling down or feeling lonely like you don’t have anyone, a service dog can make you feel better by showing love. Dogs can also make you feel better by just be being there for you as moral support. This is one of the benefits service dogs provide to humans with illnesses

Secondly, another reason why service dogs are beneficial is because service dogs can help humans who have mental health illness. For example, in “Can a Service Dog Help with Your Anxiety” it says, “Service dogs can provide pressure against you, chest or abdomen to create a calming effect during a moment of distress.” It also says, “Bringing medication or water to help swallow medication during an anxiety attack.” This shows that’s if you’re ever having an anxiety attack or panic attack or any type of attack, a service dog can be there to relax you or try calming you down. They also make you feel safe. Service dogs can also bring you the medication you need to help you out when you’re unable to do this for yourself. This is another reason on why dogs are beneficial to humans in need.

The third reason on how a service dog is beneficial is that they help with self-improvement. For example, in “Benefits of Service Dogs” it says, “A service dog allows many people with disabilities to do things they did not think were possible and to frequent public places with less worry.” It also says service dogs can help you regain motivation to handle the potential challenge of daily chores and bring some joy in day-to-day activities.” This shows that service dogs can encourage people who have low self-esteem to do things they never thought were possible. It also shows that a service dog can help you with your mentality and how you think about yourself. This is the third reason on how service dogs can be beneficial to humans.

Service dogs can be very beneficial in many different ways. One way a service dogs can be beneficial is by showing companionship. Another way is that service dogs can also help humans who have mental illnesses. The third way that a service dog can be beneficial is when they try and help you with your self-improvement. This is why service dogs can be beneficial to all those humans who struggle with different types of difficulties on a daily basis.

Service Dogs by Marsela M.

What would be a good service animal? Well, let’s do some research. According to the online research, one of the best service animals are dogs. They are great for traveling, physical help, and emotional support.

First off, there’s physical help. According to a website called pinellascountry.org, any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual person with a disability, including a physical sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or any other mental disability is perfect. That’s because dogs sense when you’re feeling down. Some people feel down when they are unable to move around or are feeling unwell. Dogs help with physical challenges like fatigue, pain, and trouble walking. Service dogs also help people regain balance and prevent them from falling. To finish off, service dogs help you with everything you need from physical challenges and more.

Next, there’s emotional support. According to Ava.org, dogs help with more than just being a pet. Dogs are your best friends during emotional times. They help you through depression, social phobia, mental problems, and more. Depression is a horrible mental problem to have, and many people wouldn’t be there for you except your service animal. Life activities might be problems for if when feeling dizzy, having balance problem, having low blood sugar, experiencing a seizure, having panic attacks, being filled with stress, and having depression, whether it’s due from just a mental standpoint or is linked to physical issues. Basically, emotional help is something not to play around with. Dogs are and will be your best friends during those times.

To finish off, there’s traveling with dogs. According To servicedogregistration.org, traveling with your service animal is possible. This is especially the case when you’re up in the air and sitting next to a stranger in an airplane, or in a car for a long time. When it comes to service animals, airlines do not require more proof than “Credible Verbal Assurance.” This means traveling with your service animal at any time, which is possible thanks to the rules and regulations. Overall, traveling with a service dog is amazing because you have company, feel safe, and airlines allow the guidelines.

In conclusion, according to research, dogs as service animals are the best for physical help, emotional help, and traveling. Remember, not all airlines have the same rules, dogs may not take care of all physical problems and more help can be needed, and emotional problems may still need counseling, but with a dog you have instant company.

Chickens as Support Animals by Camila N.

In this essay I will be explaining about how supports animals (chickens) have advantages and are useful to humans who need calming down. Chickens can be beneficial. Also, people make easy connections with connections. Read on to find out more!!

As I said, I will be explaining about how chickens are useful to humans. On the website countrysmallholding.com it states that “chicken boosts people’s mood, combat loneliness and isolation among elderly, and caring for chickens can improve mobility too”. Well wow, as you can see chickens can almost improve with everything that a human needs! This is really good for humankind! In the article “Are Chickens Helpful for Therapy,” it mentions that “chickens can help motivate and push themselves to achieve greater mobility and independence”. Well, this is also very good, since people are getting more help while the chicken motivate them into achieving more in life. And this is why chickens are useful to humans. Keep on reading to find out more information!!!

As I was mentioning, now I will explain how chickens calm humans down. On the website “Nextavenue.org” and under the subheading “The calming effect of therapy chickens” it states that “As soon as we brought the hens into our home, we realized that they helped me with anxiety and depression.” As you can clearly tell, chickens help calm down people with anxiety and depression, and this means that the person is feeling better because of the chicken helping them. In the same website/title it mentions that “My family noticed in just 2 days that we had the chickens that I was happier.” This is excellent, it’s better that the person is happier with those horrible conditions such as anxiety and depression. And this is why chickens are good service animals that help humans be relaxed/calmed down.

And now in this section, I will be informing you about how people having a connection with chickens is much more delightful/helpful! On the website “hobbyfarms.com” and on the bottom of the page “Therapy Chickens, Creating Bonds and Improving Health” it states that “I believe some chickens make choices to connect differently with people, and these connections provide many people, with learning, growth, and healing.” As you may see, chickens can make/create bonds with humans, and this is really cool because it provides humans with better health since the chicken is making a really amazing bond that can help people’s health. Now finally under the subtitle “Reestablishing Lost Connections” (same website) it mentions that “The unsuspecting chicken is not only mending our relationship, with the origins of our food, but its nurturing emotional connections with people in need, to the healthy benefit of everyone.” And this is lastly why people having a connection with chickens is way more helpful.

To conclude my thoughts, in this essay I was literally explaining about how service animals are useful to humans. They calm humans down. Also, people having an amazing connection with chickens.

Birds - Therapeutic Animals by Emily S.

To start off, I think birds are good therapeutic animals for people who need it. Unlike service animals, emotional support animals are not protected by federal laws. But, they are protected under the Fair Housing Act. There are many more reasons why birds in general are good emotional support animals for people who need it!

One reason why birds are good support animals (more specifically emotional support) are because they show really high levels of empathy. They can learn phrases to cheer up their handler when they’re going through an episode. This episode might include emotional anguish. In the text “Can My Bird Qualify as an Emotional Support Animal?” it states, “Birds are exceptionally intelligent and can learn words and phrases they they can use to help soothe their handler before or during an emotional episode.” This helps the handler talk to the bird and they can respond back to the handler. This makes people feel comfortable and feel more connected.

Another reason why birds are good therapeutic animals is because they take little effort to take care for. This makes it easier for the handler if they can’t physically treat a bird like you treat a dog correctly. Dogs are high maintenance, while birds are not. In “Can My Bird Qualify as an Emotional Support Animal?” it says, “Having to take their support animal out can become inconvenient to handlers depending on their disabilities . . .” So basically, if the handler is having an episode, it’s impossible for them to take care of their service animal. Honestly, I would DEFINITELY pick a bird as a support animal.

Also, not to mention that birds are unbelievably intelligent!! You can teach your bird to say phrases whenever you’re going through an episode. You can teach it to say “it’s okay” or “it’s gonna be alright” or whatever makes the handler comfortable. Just don’t forget to bring them everywhere you go! You don’t know if you’ll end up having an emotional episode in the middle of eating that McWhopper at Burger King… But in my opinion, I would ABSOLUTELY and DEFINITELY pick a bird to be my support animal. Teaching your bird to say comforting phrases just proves how smart birds can be. I mean, no offense to the dogs and cats but, birds are an animal to consider when looking for emotional support.

So, in conclusion, birds are a great selection if you’re picking an emotional support animal. To restate why, they are easy to take care of, show high levels of empathy, AND lets not forget… they can learn phrases to comfort you and maybe even HAVE A WHOLE CONVERSATION with you!!  So, if you want an animal who can comfort you and are easy to take care of, birds provide plenty of benefits to handlers.

Assistance from Boa Constrictors by Melody H.

There are many people in the world struggling to cope with their health, or mental health, but service animals are very useful for those kinds of problems. These animals are helpful to those who need medical attention. They can also help with emotional support. There are many animals that can be service, therapy, or emotional support animals. One of these animals can be a boa constrictor which can help you and have benefits such as that they are easy or train, they can help you with physical health, and also assist with mental health!

To start off, boa constructors are easy to train. According to Prezi.com, the article “How Using a Boa Constrictor as a Service Animals Shapes People” they can be very easy to train. This is because they are very well-tempered. The story also says that it is easy because it is naturally a part of them. Training will not be so hard to do because most boas are always loyal to their handlers as long as they are being taken cared for. Most of the time boa constrictors are used for seizure patients because they can easily sense their owner’s blood pressure to see if they will get a seizure. A boa constrictor is very easy to train which makes it a very good emotional support and/or therapy animal.

In addition, boa constrictors can help with physical health. According to Prezi.com’s article “How Using Bo’s Constrictors as a Service Animal Shapes People,” they can help with somebody’s health and well-being with things like seizures. These snakes can help with seizures simply because they can sense them coming. They can do this because, like how I explained in the first topic paragraph, they can easily sense their owner’s blood pressure to see if they will get a seizure. This is a very helpful benefit of having a boa constrictor as a service animal. In this article it also tells a story of Daniel Greene and his boa constrictor Red-rock. The story says, “But Red-rock, a boa constrictor belongs to Daniel Greene, proved otherwise when he saved his epileptic owner from multiple seizures simply because he can sense them coming.”  This is a huge benefit to help others with their needs with a boa constrictor.

Lastly, boa constrictors can help with people’s mental health According to hrdailyadvisor.blr.com, in the article “Service Animals Gone Wild: Bring Your Boa Constrictor to Workday,” they can make their owners feel better mentally with loneliness and anxiety. This is because they can provide company to their owners and be with them easily. Boa constrictors are mostly emotional support animals. According to moome.com, "8 of the Craziest Emotional Support Animals", ”The snakes can be registered as ESAs to help patients suffering from bipolar disorder, anxiety attacks and obsessive-compulsive disorder.” A boa constrictor can help with all of these things and can be really helpful. They are a good animal to keep you company. This is my last reason on why a boa constrictor is a good service animal because they can help with mental health.

In conclusion, a boa constrictor is a good service and emotional support animal because they have their benefits. They are naturally easy to train. They can help with physical health. They can also help with mental health including anxiety and loneliness. To sum up, there are a lot of benefits of having a boa constrictor as a therapy or emotional support animal.

Service Dogs by Alexandra A.

There are people in this world who face difficulties like mental and physical health, and service animals can help those people with their disabilities. These animals that are trained provide company, comfort, and support to the people who need it. This will actually help with people to have less pain with their problems. These types of animals can be selected to be a support animal or a therapy animal. A type of animal that’s like this is a dog, and they have the benefits to them being trainable, improving people’s mental health issues, and improving physical strength.

To start off, service dogs help with people who have mental health issues. According to k94.life.org, in an article “Benefits of Service Dogs”, service dogs can help and accompany you in many situations. This means that people that have a dog as a service animal make them feel more comfortable around a situation. It also says how service dogs allow people with disabilities to do things they couldn’t do. This makes the people who have disabilities to do something they did not think was possible to them. Service dogs also help you regain motivation to handle the challenge of daily chores. This means that a service dog can give you motivation to do a potential challenge that you couldn’t do last time. The help of this animal shows us a huge benefit for people who have trouble with their mental health.

Additionally, service dogs are trainable. According to aku.org, in the article “Everything You Need to Know About Service Dogs”, service dogs remain under control in a variety of settings. This means service dogs that are trained can remain with good behavior in different kinds of places. This article also shows how service dogs can have house training. This means you can train your service dog in your house or in a special place. Also, service dogs always settle quietly at the handler’s side in public. They won’t run off or have bad behavior next to their handlers in public. So, when you have a service dog that is trainable, you can take them anywhere in the world without having to think of bad behavior from your service dog.

Lastly, service dogs help with people who have physical health issues. According to Purdue.edu, in the article “Service Dogs Benefits the Well-Being of Their Handlers, Research Shows”, talks about how service dogs can have measurable positive effects on the health and well-being of individuals with physical disabilities. This means that service dogs can help with people who can’t do anything because they have a disability. The article also shows how service dogs can support people’s physical disabilities in a variety of ways. They mostly have tasks that are household actions like turning on the lights and provide stability for their owner for standing, walking, etc. Also, service dogs can prevent people with disabilities from dangerous conditions. This means service dogs have a huge benefit to make those people with physical health problems have an easier life.

To end these thoughts, having a service dog as a pet can have its benefits. Service dogs help with people who have mental and physical health issues. Service dogs help the owner who struggles with those disabilities have a better life than before. There are different ways a service dog can make someone feel more comfortable with them around. In conclusion, there are plenty of benefits that this animal can help with people in their household, or in a special place that they can feel supported.
