There are some people who face challenges in a daily basis like in a mental, physical or emotional way, and a good way to help them would be with a service or support animal. These animals help people with disabilities and everyday things. The animal I feel who is a great support animal is a capuchin monkey because they’re trainable, they live long, and less people are allergic. I will be explaining to you why a capuchin monkey Is a great support animal.
The first reason a capuchin monkey is an amazing support animal is that they are highly trainable animals. According to this information on Monkeyhelpers.org, they can be trained to turn pages, flip a light switch, retrieve dropped objects, insert straws into bottles, touch button switches for remotes, phones, computers, etc… Also, capuchin monkeys aren’t like other animals since they have opposable thumbs. They can open doors for you and retrieve specific items for you. Capuchin monkeys are also potty trained to get to their cage and go to the bathroom or they wear diapers to be cautious and not make a mess. What makes a capuchin monkey a good support animal is that they are very quick learners, able to manipulate objects, and are not usually aggressive, making them suitable in the home and to travel with. Capuchin monkeys are also known to be care partners because they have been trained to help those with mobility and dexterity issues.
The second reason capuchin monkeys are a great support animal is that they have a life span between 15 - 25 years in the wild. I found this information in “How Long Do Monkeys Live.” Although, these monkeys enjoy a long life span as they can survive for up to 35 years in captivity. Capuchins also have a low chance of catching diseases and rarely get sick. Most people go through several service animals. Although with one capuchin monkey, that’s all you need because of their lifespan. I think it’s good to have a capuchin monkey because you won’t have to worry about the animal leaving the household too soon. Most people go through 3 - 4 support animals but with one capuchin monkey you won’t have to worry about going through multiple animals. An animal who lives 30-40 years is preferable versus one that lives 15-20 years.
The final reason why I think the capuchin monkey is a great service monkey is because of its hair. According to Monkeyhelpers.org, it says that because of the way the hair of the capuchin monkey is, they are less allergic to people. That being said, that is a great reason to have them as a support animal because it is very common that a lot of people tend not to have animals around due to being allergic to their hair. Also, when you have people over you don’t have to worry about them being allergic. Allergies are a serious thing and can send people to the hospital. Animal fur Is known to cause many allergies but because capuchin monkeys are less likely to affect people, they can help a lot more and be deployed in more homes. Their hair comes in different colors such as, cream, light tan, and other colors, and non-allergenic. So, it would seem that the capuchin monkey is a great support animal for people who have deadly allergies.
In
conclusion, these are the 3 reasons I believe that a capuchin monkey is a great
support animal. It is helpful/ trainable, its life span is long so you won’t
have to worry about it, and finally its hair won’t trigger allergies. So these monkeys
help people with disabilities and mental, physical, and even emotional problems.
I tend to be very allergic to fur so I think it’s great that people are less allergic to them because of their fur. Belen

Its crazy how different capuchin monkeys are to other monkeys. They dont give fur allergies, they have a large life span, and are easy to train service animals.

I love this essay about the capuchin monkey. It’s very interesting and has a lot of cool facts. It’s amazing how they live a long life, they don’t give fur allergies as much as other animals, and they are very productive and helpful.
