There are many people that need emotional support from animals. A very good emotional support animal is a cockatoo. Cockatoos are excellent when you have anxiety and depression. Cockatoos have many benefits such as they are easy to train, they deal with anxiety and depression, and they show high levels of empathy.
In the beginning, birds are very small, so they are easy to train. In the text “Emotional Support Birds,” it says they do not require certain training. This means that cockatoos can help people without much training, so this cuts out hours of giving treats and redirecting. The passage also states that any kinds of bird can be an emotional support animal. This means that cockatoos can be easily picked for this. Cockatoos are sweet and attractive birds that easily fit into any home. They don’t need much training, which is a plus.
Next, birds can help with anxiety and depression. In the passage “Emotional Support Birds,” it’s stated, “According to the US support animal website, emotional support animals help individuals with emotional disabilities such as anxiety or depression by providing comfort and support”. This indicates that birds give comfort and support for people who suffer from anxiety and depression. Anxiety is nervousness and depression is feeling sad. These people benefit from having an animal around. The passage also says animals such as a cockatoo help deal with anxiety and depression. This means they are very helpful with people that have mental health issues. Cockatoos support people with anxiety, depression, and many more problems.
Lastly, birds show high levels of empathy. In the text “Animals that make good therapy/emotional support animals,” it says that birds like a cockatoo understand feelings of a person. This indicates that having a cockatoo as a therapy/emotional support animal have benefits because they can understand you and share feelings with you. They just have a sense of your emotional state at the moment. The text also says that cockatoos can help you with mental and emotional problems. This further indicates that they know how you feel. If you are feeling negative emotions, cockatoos can help you. This is why it’s beneficial to have cockatoos as support animals.
In addition, cockatoos are awesome animals! They show high levels of empathy, help you with depression and anxiety, and they are easy to train. Cockatoos are excellent animals as emotional support/therapy animal. There benefits are numerous.
